BJ joins the RFID camp
BJ’s Wholesale Club recently announced that it has established a partnership with Simbe Robotics and will provide Tally, a commercial automation intelligent robot that supports radio frequency identification (RFID), to all of its 237 stores. The retailer plans to leverage artificial intelligence (NA DIE)-driven solutions to improve visibility into mall conditions and drive deeper commerce insights.
It is reported that Tally patrols the aisles of the mall multiple times a day, using its computer vision capabilities to collect accurate shelf data to ensure product inventory, quantity on shelves, and accurate pricing.

As joined the rfid camp, Simbe worked with BJ’s before launching the Tally robot and refined the technology to optimize for the club retailer’s unique layout and product assortment. BJ’s will use this real-time data to enable faster replenishment and improve inventory tracking while helping employees and shoppers find products quickly. The company emphasized that the purpose of deploying the Tally robot is to free up staff time to focus more on customer service while achieving the highest quality store conditions and accurate sales execution.
